CitiQuiet Hurricane Windows & Doors
How it Works

CitiQuiet Hurricane Windows are all custom made to order and are fabricated to complement any and all conditions. An impact window or door system consists of your choice or frame material; aluminum, vinyl, or wood.

These frames combined with varying thicknesses of laminated glass create the CitiQuiet high impact window and door.

Different locations or "zones" require different designs mandated by the building codes in your area. Based upon CitiQuiet's findings, different types of laminated glass are used to meet and exceed local codes. (i.e. heat-strengthened glass, storm glass, annealed glass, tempered glass, insulated glass, and a multitude of other options)

CitiQuiet trained technicians complete a "turn-key" installation in your home or business. Before any windows and doors are made available to our clients they are sent to an approved lab where they are tested for air and water seepage, structural pressure, forced entry, and impact resistance.

Following pressure testing, the impact windows and doors are subjected to 9,000 cycles of positive and negative wind loads to certify that the product can maintain structural integrity under hurricane-force duress.

In a structure where doors and windows are located 30 feet or less from ground level, a "large-missile" impact resistant product must be installed. In locations where the windows and doors are above 30 feet, either a "large-missile" or "small missile" impact product can be utilized. CitiQuiet products have Miami-Dade County product approval for both large and small-missile resistance.

Since the devastation witnessed at the whim of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, home and business owners have begun replacing their windows, even in places where building codes do not require it. CitiQuiet Hurricane's impact windows and doors are designed to significantly reduce property damage due to objects that are blown at high speeds.

In areas of the country where code does not require impact windows, CitiQuiet recommends that you install it's impact windows or doors in at least one safe room where your family can congregate during a hurricane or similar emergency.
