Why should I purchase  high impact windows and doors from CitiQuiet Hurricane?

The CitiQuiet pedigree speaks for itself. The company has led the window industry in soundproofing specialization for nearly two decades due to its quality product and unparalleled service; backed by a lifetime unlimited warranty and satisfaction guarantee.

No other company will stand by its product like CitiQuiet. If you're not happy with it, we will remove it at no charge to you.

Are CitiQuiet's soundproof windows and impact windows alike?

The common link between the hurricane windows and soundproof windows is that they both utilize laminated glass to serve their function. Hurricane windows use the laminate to prevent breakage and strengthen the glass. In soundproof windows, the laminate breaks down soundwaves that would otherwise pass right through the glass.

Both styles of windows will bring elements of the other if installed.
How do I know if I need to use hurricane/impact code products in my home?

Every city and county has building codes. These codes are created to  guarantee that new homes being built (and older homes being remodeled)  have the best and safest building products available.

Coastal areas are  particularly susceptible to changing building codes. It's important that you work with CitiQuiet to make certain that the windows you purchase  and have installed in your home meet and exceed the codes for your area.

In most areas it is mandated that hurricane/impact-resistant windows  and doors are to be installed in homes. If you're not sure, ask us for a free consultation.

Why should I use hurricane/impact code windows and doors instead of boarding up or shuttering my home?

  • A Proven System: CitiQuiet Hurricane's impact doors and windows have been proven to safeguard buildings from destructive winds, shattering glass, wind born debris, torrential rain, and most importantly, objects capable of penetrating standard glass that could cause interior damage or loss of life.

  • Peace of Mind. Your impact windows from CitiQuiet Hurricane will give you peace of mind. They only need to be installed once, and protect your home 25/7. They do not require shuttering which save homeowners money, time
and labor when severe weather threatens.

  • There Are No Alternatives. Unlike shutters and plywood, impact doors and windows provide continuous protection. No seasonal installation and removal is  needed. The alternatives are flimsy and cumbersome, capable of being easily swept away by more beligerent wind. CitiQuiet Hurricane's impact doors and windows become an immovable part of your building's structure.

  • Security. Laminated glass, used in CitiQuiet Hurricane's impact doors and windows, is shatter-proof, which will discourage thiefs from intruding into your home.

When is Hurricane season?

Atlantic, June 1 through November 30th. In the Pacific May 15th through November 30th.

In the Atlantic, Hurricanes generally occur in August, September and October; though rare they are known to occur year-round.

I don't live in a tropical climate, do I really need to protect my home with high impact windows and doors?

Hurricanes threaten the entire US eastern seaboard. As seen with Hurricane Irene in the summer of 2011, even cities as far north as New York and Boston are at risk of being impacted by hurricanes.

Tropical storm can reach hundreds of miles inland, causing unimaginable damage to cities ill-equipped to withstand such forces.

Are CitiQuiet Hurricane's windows and doors energy efficient?

Yes. Based on customer feedback, numerous homeowners have saved a significant amount of money on air conditioning bills in the height of the summer.

All windows and doors installed by CitiQuiet significantly exceed Energy Star requirements.

How do impact windows and doors also reduce noise?

All hurricane/impact code windows and doors provide superior strength and are energy efficient. By laminated two pieces of glass together to form a 7/16" or 9/16" overall thickness combined with a thermally broken frame, CitiQuiet can achieve STC ratings above and beyond most other contractors. By installing a high impact hurricane window and door along with a urethane or silicone sealant on both the interior and the exterior, CitiQuiet windows reduces the noise significantly.

What makes a window impact-resistant?

The window is made with impact glass consisting of a strong laminated interlayer bonded between two panes of annealed, heat-strengthened, or tempered glass. When struck by a forceful object the glass resists shattering. (I.e. the front window of an automobile) When impact glass is struck it spider webs and stays together as one piece. This prevents water from intruding into the home even if the glass was to crack.

What is Insulated Glass?

Insulated Glazing or Insulating Glass (commonly referred to as "IG") is a set of two or more lites of glass spaced apart and hermetically sealed to form a single glazed unit with an air space between each lite. Its most important function is to improve the thermal performance of glass when used in architectural applications.

What is the advantage of argon gas between panes?

Argon gas is 5-1/2 times heavier than air. It serves as a large insulator against heat, cold and noise; far better than standard air.

What is "Low-E" glass?

Low-Emissivity (Low-E) coatings are microscopically thin, virtually invisible, metal or metallic oxide layers deposited on a window or skylight glazing surface primarily to reduce the U-factor by suppressing radiative heat flow.

It will keep your home warmer in the winters and cooler in the summers, and allow you hang artwork that would otherwise be damaged or discolored by U.V. rays around the room.

Will I need to replace any of my window sills or have to touch up paint on my own?

No, CitiQuiet will stucco, paint, and replace any damaged sills on doors or windows at no cost to you.
